The weigh station property footprint was not enlarged as part of the modernization. All improvements fit within the existing right-of-way.

Harkins Contracting Inc., of Salisbury, was the primary contractor performing the construction work. The US 13 Truck Weigh and Inspection Station is one of two remaining scale houses constructed in 1955. It has been operated by Maryland State Police since 1967.

The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety and appreciates customers’ patience as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and driving patterns. Slow down and move over in work zones. It’s the law. Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for assistance.
