Traffic Alert: Extended lane closures scheduled this weekend on Interstate 81 for exit 156 bridge work in Botetourt County

Weather permitting, extended lane closures will be in place this weekend for bridge work as part of the bridge repair project at exit 156 on I-81 in Botetourt County.

On southbound I-81 towards Roanoke, alternating lane closures will be in place rom mile marker 158 to 156 during nighttime hours on Saturday, October 31 at 7 p.m. in the evening and extend to 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Then, on Sunday, November 1, lane closures will resume at 7 p.m. in the evening until 10 a.m., on Monday morning.

Delays are possible and drivers on I-81 should consider allowing extra time for travel during these times.
